Already I’m seeing Big Guy coming right along. I think I could push him more on the trot but I’ll just take it nice and easy; I prefer to err on the side of caution.
We are playing again with the French idea of flexing at the poll, lifting from the top of the neck and raising the back. He is responding and learning! Though he still goes behind the bit, he is already easing out of the nervousness he was exhibiting last fall during our rides.
I am so proud of him!
Applied Equi-Spot to him and Z in hopes of stopping these ticks. He’s got a lot of inflammation of bites where I took them off and I’m not sure what would really help with that. Right now I’m just keeping it clean with iodine washes and using a phenol cleanser followed by an aloe vera based healing skin cream.
